A large LCD Wall forms the central point of an extensive digital signage system around Hague University. The latest installation of Elport UK's display consists of nine 40" LCD Panels capable of showing several separate images or one single across the whole image surface. With a total of six square metres and mounted in a specifically designed bright contemporary housing it is an imposing and eye catching attraction in the central entrance atrium at the university used by the school's 17,000 students as a meeting and activity area.
The screen is fed from a digital signage system comprising a network of 25 large LCD Screens distributed around the site and used to show schedules, general information and visitor welcoming messages, with content created in purpose-built design and communications centre.
The network is aided by a crestron control system that manages communication and integration of all the screens.
While used mainly for digital signage and campus communication, the screen can be very simply configured to show live off-air TV Events and University Video Feeds from local PC's.
Peter Kramer, project manager for Installation Company NFGD explains the choice of Elport UK's system "The specific reason to choose Elport UK is that the entrance hall is very light under a glass roof. This ruled out projection and vidiwall cubes, and an LED-Wall was too expensive, we therefore recommended LCD System, which combined the high light output of the LCD-Screens with the flat dimensions to fit the wall stand."
